How do I get to The Boathouse Pulau Tioman?

Guests can travel by land via bus or car from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Mersing or Tanjung Gemok, followed by a ferry ride to Pulau Tioman. Please note that there are no flights or airlines to Pulau Tioman.

How long is the ferry ride?

The ferry ride takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on tide and sea conditions.

Which jetty to stop at in Pulau Tioman?

Genting Jetty. Our marine crew will pick up guests from Genting Jetty, and the resort is approximately 6 minutes away by speedboat.

Can the hotel arrange for my transportation?

Yes. The hotel can assist with land transportation between Larkin and Mersing (both directions). This service is chargeable and payable at the hotel.

What is the Marine Park Conservation Fee and where can I purchase the ticket?

Tioman island is a designated Marine Park, and all visitors are required to purchase a Marine Park Conservation ticket.

Tickets can be purchased at Marine Park Counter at:

  • Mersing Harbour Centre
  • Tanjung Gemok Ferry Terminal

Fees are:

  • RM5 for Malaysians
  • RM30 for International Visitors

In addition, a Sustainability Fee of RM3 per room per night, imposed by the Pahang state government, will be payable at the hotel.

The Boathouse Pulau Tioman is located on a private beachfront, away from other villages, and is not accessible by foot, offering a secluded and tranquil escape.

Chargeable transportation is available to Kampung Genting and Paya upon request.

The hotel and most establishments on Tioman island accept cash payment, credit and debit cards, and QR payment.

What is the best time to visit Tioman island?

The best time to visit is from mid-February to mid-November. The hotel closes during monsoon season, when ferry services are limited or not available.
