Pulau Tioman, 24 July 2026 – The Boathouse Pulau Tioman participated in the ASEAN–China Tourism Dialogue 2026, held in Pulau Langkawi on 22 July 2026. The dialogue brought together more than 400 delegates comprising tourism leaders, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and tourism professionals from China, ASEAN Member States, and Malaysia to exchange perspectives, explore new opportunities, and discuss the future direction of regional tourism.

Hosted by Tourism Malaysia, the ASEAN–China Tourism Dialogue 2026 served as an important platform for meaningful discussions between ASEAN and China, focusing on connectivity, innovation, and the development of a more resilient and sustainable tourism ecosystem. The dialogue highlighted the importance of partnerships and cross-border collaboration in shaping the future of tourism in the region.

The programme opened with distinguished welcoming remarks from:

• H.E. Dato Sri Tiong King Sing – Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia
• H.E. Ouyang Yujing – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia
• H.E. Zhang Lizhong – Secretary-General of the ASEAN–China Centre
• H.E. Zhang Xu – Chair of the World Tourism Alliance
